Solid American white oak coffee table with bog oak dowels.

The table top and shelf have been scorched prior to assembly using a Japanese technique called Shou-Sugi-Ban (Yakisugi).

This technique gives the wood its blackened-charred colour and enhances the grain and medullary rays on its surface.
